Dear School Leader
Are you sick of all the negative news stories about schools and education when you have so many good things going on and high achieving students in different areas?
Despite some views to the contrary, media are interested in these things. The only difference is that it's local media rather than metropolitan and national media outlets. I can tell you this from experience.
The key is knowing what local media want and how to give it to them. By doing this you create community confidence in the education you provide and it's a wonderful way to balance up all the negative news we see.
This webinar has been a long time coming after two principals asked me to put it on. They were frustrated that the media only focused on the negative and all the great things their students were doing never saw the light of day. They say this meant their was a lack of community confidence in the school and some parents avoided sending their children there because the good news stories were never heard.
They realised that local media covered a lot more positive stories and this was a better target for them anyway because its circulation area was their community. But they had no idea where to start in approaching local media or if it was even possible.
In this Webinar, I show you the simple process of getting your school into local media for the right reasons (Also remember that this coverage is completely free). It's quite simple when you know and it can lead to ongoing positive publicity. Believe me as a former education reporter who struggled to ever get enough content to satisfy my editor.
This is all why I've decided to run this workshop. It's ideal for anyone at your school who may look after marketing, yourself as the leader, or preferably a few people together. It's not rocket science and doesn't have to take much time, but you do need to know the process.
